Council is pleased to announce that Greythorn Community Hub won the 2020 Award for Excellence in the ‘Community Assets and Infrastructure Initiatives (projects over $2 million)’ category at the LGPro Awards last night.
The award recognises council initiatives which maximise benefits to the community and showcase partnerships in the development and management of new community assets.
Since opening in September 2018, the Greythorn Community Hub has provided the local community with a one-stop destination to access valuable services, programs and activities.
The Hub is home to a library lounge, neighbourhood house, maternal and child health service and childcare centre. All of this has been made possible for the community thanks to the North Balwyn RSL, which generously provided Council with a 99 year lease.
Since opening, an outstanding 43,792 visitors have enjoyed the new library, the maternal and child health services team has conducted 768 Key Age and Stage consultations and Trentwood at the Hub has had 577 program participants.
