Located in the entrance to the 360 Boroondara Youth Resource Centre, the Gallery of Young Art (GOYA) will provide young artists in our community with valuable resources and the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional space.

We recognised the opportunity to create a welcoming, identifiable and relevant space to align the 360 Boroondara Youth Resource Centre with the adjoining Hawthorn Arts Centre.

GOYA’s inaugural exhibition, A Mile in My Shoes, brought together 40 young people from across Boroondara who styled and painted a pair of canvas sneakers to represent what it meant to “walk a mile in their shoes”. From this group, 11 young artists were selected by their peers to have their work exhibited.

GOYA is an initiative of Solar Productions, a music and cultural events program for young people, funded by Council and the Victorian Government.
