Ted Wilkins - 2020 Boroondara Citizen of the Year

Ted Wilkins has been deeply involved in community life for many years, generously devoting his time to numerous local organisations and groups including the Rotary Club of North Balwyn, the North Balwyn Uniting Church Council and the North Balwyn InterChurch Council’s Carols Committee.

Ted has driven a number of fundraising activities for charities and community needs, such as Rotary’s mental health research fund. For over 10 years, Ted’s tireless efforts have been crucial to the delivery of the Carols in the Park event, from extensive fundraising and event planning all the way to on-the-ground set up and pack up on the day.

Ted’s generosity, reliability and willingness to pass on the knowledge and experience gained from his career in insurance is highly valued by those around him. To this day, Ted continues to live an active and selfless life supporting his family, organisations and causes close to his heart.
