This year communities are celebrating Victoria’s Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Service, which has been helping to give babies and young children the best start in life for 100 years.

The service includes free regular check-ups and health support for children at key developmental stages up to the age of four, and is relied on by parents to ensure the ongoing health of their children.

To celebrate 100 years of Maternal and Child Health Services in Victoria, Boroondara’s Maternal and Child Health nurses are inviting parents and children to a special Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Parents, children and teddy bears are encouraged to come along for a morning filled with fun activities and celebration! There will also be a special photo exhibition in the Camberwell Library Corridor showing the history of Maternal and Child Health Services in Boroondara for the month of July 2017.

The exhibition features historical photographs that date back to 1920 when the first Boroondara Baby Health Centre was established on Walpole St, Kew.
