As the country celebrates National Volunteer Week from Monday 8 May to Sunday 14 May, I encourage you to consider volunteering as a way of connecting with your local community and sharing your skills.
There are so many ways you can make a difference through volunteering and, with the highest volunteer rate in Victoria, our Volunteer Resource Centre can help you find the right fit.
From short-term opportunities in research, marketing and events, through to regular commitments serving meals, teaching English and providing companionship, our Volunteer Resource Centre can connect you with the organisations that need your skills.
Over 600 people visited the annual Boroondara Volunteer Expo in March this year to meet with community organisations and learn about volunteer options. This was a 50 per cent increase in visitors from last year and shows that volunteering will always be a strong part of our community.
If you’d like learn more about volunteering, visit the Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre or call 9278 4550.
