Over Easter (Friday 19 to Monday 22 April) and on Anzac Day (Thursday 25 April), some of our services and centres may be closed or have different hours. Please see details of all affected services.

We have heard you and we’re going to deliver!

From November 2016 to April 2017, we asked you, our community what was important to you in Boroondara. We received an outstanding 11,845 responses, which is the largest number of responses ever received by the City of Boroondara.

We received feedback from across the municipality, in a range of ways through   school visits, Pop-Up Council events and workshops. We’re grateful to everyone who took part in the consultation process because you have enabled us to develop a new 10-year community plan.

The consultation was filled with insights into what the community’s priorities are and how people like to communicate with Council. For example, 3601 people provided feedback through a telephone survey, while 5352 people chose to speak to us online. The use of digital and social media opens up two-way conversations between Council and the community and helped us reach people we haven’t communicated with before.

The enthusiasm shown by residents and community groups in contributing to the development of the Boroondara Community Plan is a tribute to the community spirit of Boroondara. As Mayor, I truly value the voices of our community and I welcome the challenge that now faces me and my fellow Councillors in shaping a municipality that aligns with current and future aspirations of our community members.

Wherever you spoke to us, we heard you and we’d like to say thank you for your input into helping to shape our future.

The draft Boroondara Community Plan will be available for comment from 24 October to 14 November 2017 and will be adopted in December. In the meantime, learn more about how we worked with the community.
