Delay to recycling collections

In an increasingly digital world, Councillors made a unanimous decision to invest in a comprehensive digital transformation to meet our community’s expectations. In fact, two successive Councils since 2015 agreed to this significant project. 

The digital transformation should not be confused with a mere website redevelopment. It is a comprehensive effort over multiple stages to link our systems and deliver a seamless digital service.

Our priority is to focus on delivering the best possible customer experience. The changes you see to our website are the tip of the iceberg. Our commitment will make Council interactions accessible round the clock and on any device. Importantly, this digital transformation will continue delivering benefits to customers well into the future.  It will also position Council alongside other leading service providers who put the customer at the centre of everything they do.

Following extensive customer research, we consolidated seven websites into the one you see now with its user-friendly design, improved search and new ‘near me’ feature showing community facilities in your area. We also converted 50 paper forms to eForms and processed 45,000 e-submissions over the last 12 months.

Our optimised website is easy to view and navigate on any device and it now includes a number of new eForms, including an immunisation status request certificate, flu vaccine consent form and pet registrations. There’s also a change of details eForm, so you can easily update a change of name or address. 

You can also electronically report a bin problem, book a hard waste pick-up, apply for a residential parking permit, renew a business registration and make payments. 

You’ll progressively see more of these eForms being introduced as part of our commitment to continue providing services to the highest standard.  

It’s an incredibly exciting journey and one we’re proud to be taking with you.
