This new agreement replaces the existing agreement from March 2014 and aims to enhance the prospects for the community through joint research, projects and knowledge sharing.
Cr Jim Parke, Mayor of Boroondara, said that Swinburne University played an important role in the Boroondara community.
“Our vision for Boroondara is to have a vibrant and inclusive community with an outstanding quality of life and having an institution like Swinburne in our community contributes significantly to that vision,” he said.
“The student population contributes significantly to the diversity and vibrancy of our community and having world-leading research and thinking on our doorstep enhances the quality of life for our community,” he said.
Through working closely with Swinburne, it is hoped the integration between the student population and the broader community will increase.
