Coronavirus update 13 March 2020

COVID-19 restrictions: what's closed and what's open.

In light of recent events concerning the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria, many of you may be feeling uncertain about how to respond to the new challenges we now face as a community, with restrictions being simultaneously eased and tightened. Council will continue to adhere and implement Victorian Government’s restrictions and health advice, and remain committed to helping those who need it most through our COVID-19 hotline and other online services.

We are excited to be able to reopen a number of our community facilities and resume some face-to-face services. Additional health and safety precautions are in place and we have modified how we offer these services, so we can observe the Victorian Government’s directives.

Some of you may still be self-isolating or unable to leave home. Supporting each other as a community is more important than ever as we enter a new chapter of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please continue to stay connected and use online services and resources on our website. I would also encourage friends, neighbours and colleagues to reach out to those around you who may be finding it hard to access basic essentials and feeling socially isolated.

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members

Boroondara is a compassionate community and it is our strong community connectedness that makes Boroondara a great place to live, work, shop and play. Let us support each other through small acts of kindness and being mindful of the part we all play by following the health advice of hand hygiene and social distancing. We will be a stronger community as we continue to be a community that cares.
