I am pleased to confirm that the City of Boroondara’s revised Council Plan 2017-21 and Budget 2018-19 were unanimously adopted at the Council meeting on Monday 25 June 2018.

The four-year Council Plan has been revised to reflect the 10-year Boroondara Community Plan - our key strategic document that charts the priorities of the people who live, work and play in Boroondara.

When developing the Community Plan, we wanted to be sure we heard the true voice of our community. We therefore undertook the largest consultation in our history and received 11,845 responses about what is important to people in Boroondara.

You told us you value our leafy streets, safe and friendly neighbourhoods, parks and gardens and the opportunities to enjoy leisure, recreation, and social activities. You also told us that the services and facilities we provide contribute to good health and a sense of connection. And so these became the themes of the Community Plan which are now reflected in our Council Plan.

The Budget for 2018-19 will deliver on these priorities, and is notable as the first Budget to do so.

For more detailed information about the major projects that are being funded by the new Budget, please look out for our special July/August edition of the Boroondara Bulletin in your letterbox, or read it here.
