Message from the Mayor, Cr Jane Addis

Autumn is a wonderful time, with crisp mornings perfect for a walk, sunny afternoons, and the beautiful trees throughout Boroondara turning shades of red, yellow and russet brown.

During 16 to 22 May, we celebrate 2 important events in Boroondara. For Main Streets of Australia Week, many shopping centres and strips will be hosting events and promotions, providing an opportunity to support our local businesses while enjoying the festivities. During National Volunteer Week, we celebrate and recognise the generous contributions of our volunteer community. This year, the Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre reaches its 30-year anniversary; a marvellous milestone in service to community organisations.

The draft Budget 2022-23 is available and open for comments until Wednesday 25 May 2022 at 5pm. We welcome feedback to guide our decision-making and help us understand what is important to you. The draft Budget was prepared using the insights gained in developing the Boroondara Community Plan (BCP) 2021-31. The proposed projects and initiatives in the draft Budget align with one or more themes in the BCP. See Have your say on our draft budget for more information and visit Engage Boroondara-external site to provide feedback.

With winter just a month away, it is a good time to book your flu vaccination − available through Council’s immunisation program. Flu shots are free for many community members including children, pregnant women and people 65 years and older. You can book online at Flu immunisations, or call (03) 9278 4711.
