Kindergarten open days a chance to explore

Families with young children are invited to attend open days this May.

Kindergarten is an important step for every child in preparation for school. It gives children the opportunity to develop their skills through play and interaction and become confident learners in a safe, nurturing and supported environment.

In May, kindergartens that are part of the Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolment Scheme are opening their doors and inviting prospective families to attend open days at their centres.

It’s a great way for children, parents and carers to explore nearby kindergartens, speak to teachers and discuss the quality programs on offer at kindergartens throughout the City of Boroondara.

The Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolment Scheme allows families to specify their preference for several kindergartens and groups at the same time rather than apply for each individual service. After your open day visits, you can easily apply to enrol your child online via the portal on Council’s website.

Applications are now open, with children who turn 3 or 4 years old by 30 April 2023 eligible to attend a kindergarten program in 2023.
