Alice Pung joins literary awards panel

Among the panel of esteemed judges for the 2022 Boroondara Literary Awards is award-winning Australian writer Alice Pung. Judge of the Young Writers’ Poetry competition, Alice is an advocate for young writers. She believes the level of imagination, risk, and invention one has when young is unparalleled.

With published works including Unpolished Gem (2006), Her Father’s Daughter (2011), and One Hundred Days (2021), Alice was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for her service to literature in 2022.

Winners of this year’s competition will share a prize pool of more than $8,000 and will have their work published in the 2022 Boroondara Literary Awards Anthology.

The awards are now open, with submissions closing on Friday 29 July. To find out more about the categories and entry requirements, visit
