Family events and activities

Children’s Week runs from Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 October 2019

It celebrates every child’s right to enjoy childhood. During this week, children are encouraged to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities through a range of free events and activities held in Boroondara. Events running across our libraries and community centres include free child restraint checks, story time sessions and play gym sessions.

Walk, ride or scoot to school

This month, thousands of Victorian families will join VicHealth’s popular Walk to School program. It’s a free, easy and fun way to get primary school kids and families active by encouraging children to walk, ride, or scoot to and from school, to help build healthy habits for life.

It’s not too late to get your school involved. By joining, they’ll be in the running for great prizes including a smoothie blending bike.

Emergency Services Family Fun Day

Join us at Boroondara Farmers Market, Patterson Reserve, to celebrate Community Safety Month and Children’s Week. Meet emergency services workers and see inside their vehicles, enjoy interactive safety activities, cuddle native animals, tackle the climbing wall and check out the farmers market.
