Police to walk a friendly beat

Boroondara community members can expect to see more local police in our suburbs as part of friendly community engagement patrols in coming months.

Boroondara Local Area Commander Inspector Craig Pearson says the patrols are part of Boroondara’s Neighbourhood Policing Framework.
Under the framework each Boroondara Council ward has a dedicated police sergeant appointed to boost community engagement and help provide solutions for local issues.

Inspector Pearson says residents will see police out and about on foot patrols across our shopping strips, parks and gardens, and walking tracks.

“Please say hello to your local police officer, I am sure they would love to stop for a chat,” he says.
