As you travel along Earl Street in Kew you may have noticed construction taking place to develop the Willsmere Station Community Garden.
It is shaping up to be a wonderful community space.
The garden is set on what was once the historic train station - part of the old steam era Outer Circle Rail Line from which it takes its name. It will feature communal growing and sharing areas including herb beds, a food forest, shelter and a community gathering space. The garden will also include 50 individually allocated growing plots, which residents can use for their own plantings.
The garden will be completed in mid-2019 and we look forward to the community being able to enjoy their new space. Due to the limited number of growing plots, they will be allocated via a ballot by the Willsmere Station Community Garden group and Council. The plots are only available to Boroondara residents.
