Master plan for Hawthorn’s historic St James Park

Hawthorn’s St James Park has served as a vital green space for its community for more than 160 years. It retains most of its 19th-century treed avenues and path layout, and has sports facilities, a playground and war memorial.

To ensure the park continues to meet the needs of our community, we’re developing a master plan to help manage and maintain the site over the coming years and conserve this piece of Boroondara history. It will also include a tree-management plan to establish the short and long-term tree-canopy goals for the park, to ensure our trees continue to be carefully managed and renewed for current and future generations to enjoy.

We want to hear from you to help us shape this draft master plan.

Community consultation will open in March.
