Would you like to support your children to become more active and get to school independently? We can give them the skills they need through our Safe and Active travel programs to boost the number of students walking, riding, scooting and skating safely to school.
Here is a snapshot of some of the programs and events coming up which your school can get involved in.
National Ride2School Day
Celebrated nationally on Friday 13 March 2020, Ride2School Day encourages students to get active for their journey to school. We can provide your school with support to run travel initiatives which encourage physical activity including breakfasts and competitions.
Bike Ed for primary schools
Bike Ed is a safe cycling skills program developed by VicRoads, designed to help students in grades 3 to 6 develop the skills they need to ride safely and confidently. We can provide your school with funding to train up to 2 teachers and a relief teacher to run the Bike Ed program in your school.
Walk or Wheel Wednesdays
During Term 2, local primary schools can compete against each other by recording the active travel journeys of each student. We can provide your school with the resources needed. The competition will be held in April with schools required to join by March, so talk to your school this month and get them involved!
