One of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to support local traders is to visit one of Boroondara’s four vibrant markets. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to stock up on fresh produce, discover second-hand treasures or find handmade products.
Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening at our markets
Camberwell Fresh Food Market
Great for one-stop shopping for fresh food
The Camberwell Fresh Food Market has been known for its fresh, seasonal produce since it opened in 1929. Featuring a traditional butcher, fishmongers, florist, fruiterers, deli and even a pet produce store, the market continues to be much-loved by locals and visitors.
Sharon Lane has been coming to the market since she was a child. She says "This market has always been so friendly with a great local community feel and it has everything here I need in the one place."
Camberwell Sunday Market
Great for discovering the unknown
Every Sunday since 1976, the large car park in Camberwell Junction behind Burke Road has been transformed into a vibrant bazaar with stallholders
selling an eclectic mix of pre-loved, antique and vintage treasures. This iconic market has become a part of many locals’ weekends, and is the perfect place to grab a coffee and browse all kinds of bric-a-brac.
Boroondara Farmers Market
Great for: Local, seasonal and artisan produce
Farmers and producers come from all over Victoria to sell their products at the Boroondara Farmers Market. Buy seasonal produce, curry pastes, fresh pasta, seafood, meats, flowers and more at this Victorian Farmers Market Association accredited market. Pets also welcome.
Hawthorn Makers Market
Great for finding the perfect gift or something for yourself!
The Hawthorn Makers Market is one of Melbourne’s oldest makers markets. It’s the perfect place to find individually designed and handcrafted items including boutique clothing, cards, jewellery, homewares, plants, beauty products and much more.
