We assist young people all year round by offering valuable programs and services to help you be creative, get active, and have your say. Be sure to like ‘Boroondara Youth Services’ on Facebook to take part in virtual activities to celebrate Victorian Youth Week (Friday 3 April to Sunday 12 April 2020) these school holidays.
TAC L2P driving program
The TAC L2P learner driver mentor program is a free, state-wide initiative that matches eligible learner drivers with a supervising driver mentor.
The program helps learner drivers to meet the 120 hours of supervised driving practice required to obtain their probationary licence, which might not be possible if they don’t have access to a car or supervising driver.
We are currently taking expressions of interest for volunteer mentors and eligible young people who would like to take part in the program.
Year 10 students to 'Takeover Melbourne'
One lucky Year 10 student will have the chance to tell a story about their life and represent the City of Boroondara in the ABC’s Takeover Melbourne competition.
Takeover Melbourne provides a platform for young Melburnians to be heard and to share their experiences, challenges and passions with the rest of the city.
The winners – one from each council in greater metropolitan Melbourne – will have their stories featured locally and nationally on the ABC.
They will also attend the Takeover Melbourne Summit for a week of leadership development and have the opportunity to take over some of the city’s biggest institutions, including Melbourne Town Hall. The idea is to empower the students to design a brighter future for their city.
Competition entries should tell a true story about the student or their community. It could be a personal story about an aspect or moment of their life, a challenge they’ve overcome or something important that has happened in their community.
Entries are open now and close on Friday 26 June 2020. Winners will be announced in September 2020.
