Boroondara is home to four of Melbourne’s longest running and wonderfully diverse markets.

Whether it’s fresh food, irresistible treats, unique gifts, curiosities or that vintage piece you have been searching for, there is a market to suit every taste.

Hawthorn Makers Market

Hawthorn Makers Market is celebrated as one of Melbourne’s oldest and most loved markets, bringing together talented artisans and bespoke designers.

Running for more than 30 years and managed by the Rotary Club of Camberwell, the market showcases artists working in a variety of mediums and selling jewellery, bags, clothes, cards, furniture and hand-spun and woven items.

When: first Sunday of each month

Camberwell Sunday Market

Founded in 1976, the Camberwell Sunday Market is a local institution, attracting collectors, vintage connoisseurs and bargain hunters from all over Melbourne.

Run by the Rotary Club of Balwyn, funds raised by the market support a variety of local charitable projects. But be sure to set your alarm – you’ll find the best buys early.

Where: Market Place, Camberwell
When: 6am to 12.30pm, every Sunday

Camberwell Fresh Food Market

There’s a reason why Camberwell Fresh Food Market attracts food buffs from all corners of Boroondara and beyond. Maybe it’s the organic fruit and vegetables, or the extensive range of fresh fish, meat and poultry. It could be the impressive range of gourmet food, or perhaps it’s the wide selection of fresh flowers to suit any home or occasion.

Whatever it is, given the market has been operating for more than 85 years, it is certainly doing something right.

Where: 519-525 Riversdale Road, Camberwell
When: 7am to 7pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 7am to 5pm, Saturday

The Boroondara Farmers Market

The Boroondara Farmers Market is accredited with the Victorian Farmers’ Markets Association (VFMA) and proudly supports the principles behind genuine farmers’ markets. At the market you will find delicious, fresh produce from all around Victoria, including fresh fruit and vegetables, seasonal organic produce, meat, honey, eggs, olives, cakes and dips and sauces.

The market is managed by the Rotary Club of Glenferrie. All money raised goes back to charitable projects run by the Rotary Club of Glenferrie.
