Favourite loans offer summer reading inspiration

Boroondara’s libraries have played a vital role for our community throughout 2021.

Our click-and-collect services, along with our digital collections, ensured library members had access to books, magazines, eBooks and resources throughout the state-wide lockdown periods.

So, whether you’re planning to lounge by the beach or curl up on the back porch this summer, find inspiration in the books that kept local borrowers turning the pages this year.

Boroondara Library launches BIG Summer Read Program

This summer, Boroondara Library Service is teaming up with Public Libraries Victoria to launch the BIG Summer Read program for kids.

We know how important early literacy is for children, so we’re encouraging our youngest members to join in the fun, register and get reading to win prizes. Our aim is to get 10,000 Victorian school-aged children reading and borrowing before they head back to school in the New Year.

If you’re not sure where to start, you’ll find booklists, reading resources, and early literacy tips on our Library Children and Youth Hub.

Registration for the BIG Summer Read program is now open.

The program launches on 1 December 2021 and will run until 31 January 2022.
