Stage 4 restrictions: what's closed and what's open.

We are seeking feedback on the proposal to install an electronic scoreboard on the eastern side of the oval at Rathmines Reserve.

The proposed scoreboard is 2.8m wide x 1.92m long and can be controlled remotely from the nearby pavilion, which will assist sporting club volunteers with match day operations. It will emit minimal light and some sound (siren) during sporting club activities on the oval. We expect the sound from the proposed scoreboard to be significantly reduced from the current siren.

There is currently a small, old scoreboard at Rathmines Reserve that requires the sporting clubs to operate it manually on match days. The new scoreboard will allow players and spectators to easily see accurate club scores and game details.

Consultation outcome

Feedback for this proposal closed on Sunday 22 March 2020.

After careful consideration of all feedback received, we have approved for Hawthorn Amateur Football Club, Hawthorn Citizen Junior Football Club and Hawthorn Cricket Club to install a new electronic scoreboard in ‘location A’ at Rathmines Reserve.

We will be working closely with the contractor and will oversee the works.
