We are inviting the community to view and have their say on the concept design for the aqua play area within our new Kew Recreation Centre.

About the design

During consultation for the new Kew Recreation Centre, the majority of our community rated the inclusion of a designated aqua play area as very important.

We also heard a strong desire for the aqua play area to appeal to various age groups, from teens and young children to toddlers.

The colourful concept design provides plenty of opportunity for all ages to play, explore and splash across a variety of fun elements together, including:

A feature water slide

Many teens and older children told us how much they loved the big slide, so it remains a key feature in the new design.

Water spray features

A series of colourful spray features of all shapes and sizes are scattered across the splash pad to encourage exploration and different types of game playing.

Play equipment and smaller slides

A play equipment platform with a series of smaller slide options has been included to entertain younger children and toddlers while the older children and teens tackle the big slide.

Warm leisure and toddler pool

The warm leisure pool sitting alongside the splash pad will allow users to move seamlessly between the two zones, providing a playful water experience for families of all ages to enjoy together.

All render images are shown for illustration purposes only. Actual colours, textures and finishes may differ from renders.
