Eastern Melbourne is home to many trails accommodating walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders. Some of these trails are of a regional scale and by their nature, cross municipal borders and have multiple land managers. This makes coordination between municipalities and other authorities an important part of achieving an effective and integrated regional trail network.

The Eastern Regional Trails Strategy will review the existing regional trail network and provide a strategic direction to allow local government and other land management authorities to develop an interconnected, accessible and well-used trail network that promotes healthy and active communities.

Online questionnaire

The Eastern Regional Trails Strategy will address regional trails in the municipalities of Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges. These councils are developing the strategy, along with the Victorian Government through Sports and Recreation Victoria.

We want to know how you use the existing regional trail network and how you think it might be improved.
