The Draft Multicultural Action Plan 2019-23 will guide our actions over the next 4 years to support and respond to the needs of our culturally diverse community.

It is our third plan and it will build on the achievements of the previous plans in supporting and promoting the City’s cultural diversity.

The Draft Plan 2019-23 was informed by extensive research including a review of the achievements of the previous plan, an analysis of the demographic profile of Boroondara, benchmarking against other local governments with similar plans, and consultation with welfare and service providers, culturally diverse community groups and Council staff.

Background information

The plan is supported by a Background Paper, which provides:

  • the policy context relating to cultural diversity
  • a snapshot of Boroondara’ s cultural diversity
  • the achievements of the Cultural Diversity Plan 2014-18
  • the research steps that were taken to inform the development of the Draft Plan.

Your feedback is important

To ensure we have captured the key issues for people who are from culturally diverse backgrounds, we invite you to have your say on the plan and aim to capture ideas that could assist us to achieve the actions in the draft plan.
