On Wednesday 3 May, I had the pleasure of being inducted as an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Camberwell. It was a complete surprise and indeed a great honour to be recognised by Rotary who does so much good in our community.

Nick Pane, President of the Rotary Club of Camberwell, presented the membership, explaining: "We give an Honorary Membership to someone who has distinguished themselves by meritorious service in the furthering Rotary's ideals."

I am proud to be guided by these ideals and for Boroondara to have a strong relationship with Rotary organisation for years to come.

We are fortunate to have eight Rotary Clubs throughout Boroondara, all who have been serving our community for many decades. From fundraising for worthy local not-for-profit organisations to establishing local and international community projects, Rotary has always been there for people in need, whether young or old, sick or underprivileged.

Rotary Clubs are made up of people from a host of different backgrounds, and clubs are non-political, non-religious and open to everyone.

If you would like to serve your community and build goodwill and peace in the world, I encourage you to go along to your local club and get involved.
