Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support.

The Environment and Infrastructure directorate is made up of the following areas:

Asset Management

This team is responsible for works planning, which includes undertaking condition and risk assessments on all infrastructure assets and conducting risk investigations where personal injuries have occurred on Council-managed land.

Commercial and Property Services

This department provides commercial services to internal and external clients, which include managing Council's procurement and contracting services, and fleet. The team includes Revenue Services and Valuations and is responsible for collecting rates and charges, valuations of all properties within the municipality, administering Council's property holdings, and coordinating corporate risks external to Council or at the points where we interact with the community. The team provides secretariat support to Council's Audit Committee and oversees the provision of Internal Audit services.

Environment and Sustainable Living

This team supports the local community to live more sustainably and protect the environment.

Parks and Infrastructure

This team works collaboratively with our community to provide a vibrant, safe and visually pleasing city by managing and maintaining:

  • parks
  • open spaces
  • playgrounds
  • paths and roads
  • waste services (including green and hard waste collection, roadside recycling and the operation of the Boroondara Recycling and Waste Centre)
  • various infrastructure assets.

Projects and Strategy

This team completes around $35 million of capital works annually to maintain Council's infrastructure assets.

Traffic and Transport

This team develops, assesses and implements engineering solutions that address the amenity of residential and commercial areas, including parking, traffic and sustainable transport initiatives, with a commitment to public participation and consultative issue resolution.
