Macleay and Myrtle Parks - traffic and parking review
We've heard concerns about traffic here.
Macleay and Myrtle Parks make up one of the largest sporting sites in Boroondara. This open space is enjoyed by many adults, children and pets, and there are high levels of participation across a number of sporting activities.
On 27 June 2011 the Engineering and Traffic Department presented a draft traffic and parking strategy for Macleay and Myrtle Parks to Council for consideration. This was in response to a number of community concerns about traffic congestion and parking in and around Macleay and Myrtle Parks.
During August we asked for your comments on the draft strategy through a survey that included six open ended questions about the proposed solutions. Three community information stalls were held onsite at Macleay Park to provide an opportunity for community members to read about the proposed solutions, collect a survey, and talk directly with traffic engineers to seek clarification on the proposed solutions or to ask questions.
Thank you to those who provided feedback. A total of 114 surveys were returned. Overall there was more support than non support for each proposed traffic management solution.
An overview of community feedback has been presented in the Macleay and Myrtle Parks Traffic and parking review community engagement report.
