Boroondara Council elections

City of Boroondara's last general election was held 29 November 2008. The successful candidates were:

Bellevue Ward - Brad Miles
Cotham Ward - David Bloom
Gardiner Ward - Coral Ross
Glenferrie Ward - Phil Meggs
Junction Ward - Jack Wegman
Lynden Ward - Heinz Kreutz
Maling Ward - Dick Menting
Maranoa Ward - Nicholas Tragas
Solway Ward - Kevin Chow
Studley Ward - Phillip Healey

The Councillors were sworn into office at a Special Council meeting on Monday 1 December 2008.

The 2009 Mayor of Boroondara, Junction Ward's Councillor Jack Wegman, was officially announced at a civic reception on Monday 15 December 2008, having been unanimously elected by his fellow Councillors for a third term as Mayor of the City of Boroondara.

The next Council election will be in 2012.

Electoral Representation Review

Council is required under the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act) to undertake a review of the electoral structure in the City of Boroondara before every second general election. The last review for the City of Boroondara was undertaken by the VEC and completed in May 2008. The next review is scheduled for 2016.
