Residential Urban Character Study
This Study describes the individual characteristics of every neighbourhood in Boroondara, highlighting the unique in each.
The City of Boroondara has produced the Residential Urban Character Study (1996) to help planning officers in the assessment of neighbourhood character in particular. The Study describes the individual characteristics of every neighbourhood in Boroondara, highlighting what makes them unique.
From this information we have prepared a series of Residential Urban Character Statements. Each Statement details the characteristics of a particular group of neighbourhoods and should be referred to when planning new developments to ensure projects are consistent with or sympathetic to a neighbourhood's character.
Refer to the Street Index to find the Residential Urban Character Statement that applies to your neighbourhood.
Residential Urban Character Study forms should be completed and submitted with planning applications in residential areas.
