Planning permits and services
Statutory Planning processes planning permit applications to ensure they comply with the Boroondara Planning Scheme.
Statutory Planning is about land use and development control. Planning decisions may be about the size of a shopping centre, a new housing development, the removal of a tree, or a medical centre.
Statutory Planning decisions affect the natural and built environment. The City of Boroondara is responsible for statutory planning for most of the municipality.
Land use and development is controlled through the Boroondara Planning Scheme, which contains Victorian and local policies and divides the city into zones of preferred land use. The Scheme sets out whether a planning permit is required for use or development in the various zones.
