Thank you to those who joined us on Sunday 23 October at the free Kew Recreation Centre open day.
Ecologically Sustainable Design (ESD)
Design for KRC has included the incorporation of ESD initiatives. Leisure and recreation centres place high importance on factors such as the quality of the indoor environment.
As part of an overall ESD strategy for KRC, we have considered initiatives relating to indoor air quality, lighting, thermal comfort and noise. Additional ESD factors such as solar design, cooling and ventilation, building materials, and water catchment have also been taken into consideration for the improved KRC.
Please consider Green Travel options
Work is continuing to enhance sustainable transport options for KRC users.
KRC is a short distance from Kew Junction and the surrounding area has an excellent walking network and informal cycling routes leading to the Centre.
Please also consider various public transport options such as tram or train. For more information on public transport, read the Green Travel Information Sheet available at KRC or visit www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au .
