Building permits
Building Services provides a full permit and inspection service for building works within and outside the City.
Building permits are required for most construction, alteration or demolition works. As well as ensuring your works comply with regulations, the permit also provides the trigger for essential building inspections.
All building work must comply with the regulations, even if a permit is not required. Checking with us whether you need a permit, before you start work, can save you time and money.
Complaints or reports of dangerous buildings can be made to Council in writing, over the counter or over the telephone. Building inspectors investigate such reports and appropriate action is taken.
