Welcome to the City of Boroondara website.

Our aim is to help you find the information you require as easily as possible.
With this in mind, this website has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible.
We welcome feedback from users on how the features of this site can be further improved to make it even easier for you to interact with council.

Navigating This Site

This site has been designed to make it easy for you to find the information you are looking for.

The Services Index feature, located on the left of the screen, allows you to browse pages alphabetically by title.

A Search feature, located in the top left corner of the screen, allows you to use keywords to find the pages you are looking for.

On most pages, you will find a Make an enquiry about this page link at the bottom of the page.  This feature will direct you to an online enquiry form, allowing you to contact the council with any queries relating to the information on the page.
Additionally, each page shows the date when it was last updated by its author.

Accessibility

The website has been specifically designed to ensure that it is more easily accessed by people with disabilities.
The site conforms to world wide initiatives in disability access and is W3C Level A compliant.
Some features from Level AA and Level AAA are also present for increased accessibility.

Increase and Decrease Text Size

You can also increase and decrease the text size to your preferences using the buttons on the left of the page.

File Downloads

Files on the site are accessible via a download screen, which contains instructions for downloading from different types of computers.
Some larger files are available from our site as PDF files, created with Adobe Acrobat Version 4.   An abstract of these documents and instructions for download have been designed to accompany each file. If you cannot open files on the site you may need to download Adobe Reader.

Printer Friendly Pages

A Print This Page button is available on each page of the website.  It can be accessed from the left of screen and is designed to remove unwanted images and navigation elements to make it easier for you to read the printed page.

The website uses style sheet technology which aims to cater to text-to-speech browsers for enhanced accessibility.

Screen Resolution

Optimal viewing is at 800 x 600 at 256 colours. Each web page will scale to adapt to larger browser resolutions.

Credits

The website was built by Datalink using the Freestyler system.

Freestyler is a content management system that allows multiple council staff to author and publish pages on the website without technical knowledge. This helps to ensure that the site is kept up to date.
