Draft Boroondara Bicycle Strategy

The City of Boroondara commissioned ARUP consultants in early 2007 to develop a bicycle strategy. The main purpose of this strategy is to provide a strategic framework over a 10 year time frame for Council and the community for the implementation of a range of cycling infrastructure and education programs.

The Draft Bicycle Strategy has now been developed and includes an associated action plan to guide the implementation of physical improvements to bicycle routes, connectivity, storage, parking and signage as well as educational programs to promote cycling. The scope of this strategy includes the consideration of on road bike lanes, off road bike lanes and shared paths.

Whilst Council seeks to encourage those already cycling to continue, Council also seeks to encourage new cyclists to our bicycle network through improving safety, connectivity, convenience and amenity.
