School Focused Youth Service

The School Focused Youth Service (SFYS) provides support to schools and community services.

The School Focused Youth Service (SFYS) establishes partnerships between schools and community agencies to develop initiatives to support vulnerable young people and their families.

We can help with:

  • referral options for counselling, family therapy, youth support, behavioural problems, parenting issues, social/ recreation programs, drug and alcohol, school refusal and mental health
  • professional development opportunities for school staff
  • secondary consultation, and links to local youth and community networks
  • information for parents
  • information and access to school-based health and wellbeing programs
  • tailored programs to meet individual school requirements
  • accessing brokerage funding

Schools are expected to provide an expanding array of services and thus require timely information on appropriate referral and student support options.

We strive to provide a sensitive and flexible service that helps schools effectively address their wellbeing needs and adds value to the excellent service they already provide. We aim to resource schools with information and facilitate access to programs and services that compliment their existing health and wellbeing initiatives.

Brokerage funding

A limited pool of brokerage funding may be accessed each year to provide health and wellbeing initiatives in schools.

Learn more about the brokerage funding by referring to the brokerage booklet and funding options.
