Occasional Care is provided in a range of settings on either an hourly basis, for short periods of time, or at irregular intervals specifically for parents who need time to attend appointments, undertake casual or part-time employment, study or have temporary respite from full-time parenting. All occasional care services comply with the same Children's Services Regulations that apply to childcare centres and kindergartens.
And of course they provide a safe, fun and educational play-based program for children!
Boroondara boasts a variety of occasional care services that suit the broad range of needs for families. Some services provide specific sessions for over 3 year olds, which can be a great stepping-stone for children who are not quite ready for kindergarten.
Council's fact sheet (PDF, 128 kB) includes all details of services, or call Family Services on 9278 4613. In the coming weeks this page will be updated with information on the facilities and feature of some of the services.
