Camberwell Junction Structure Plan
The Camberwell Junction Structure Plan was revised and updated as the result of an intensive period of research and consultation between 2005 and 2008.
The study involved extensive consultation with the community through workshops, a community-based reference committee, public exhibition of a draft plan in February 2008, and a mail-out to residents in the study area.
The study was also infomed by specialist reports on social planning, transport, traffic modelling, economic analysis, heritage and land use and development. The revised structure plan was adopted by Council at its meeting on 27 October 2008.
The adopted plan will now be incorporated into the Boroondara Planning Scheme. This is needed to give greater control over planning and development in the junction and it involves a formal process of preparation of an amendment, public exhibition, and consideration by an independent Panel (if required). The process will require approval by the Minister for Planning at different stages.
There will be notices in the press, opportunities to make submissions, and opportunities for those making a submission to be heard by the panel if they wish.
If you would like further information about the structure plan, please contact Council's Strategic Planning Department on 9278 4805.
Last Update: 22 December 2008
