YMCA Weekend Escapes
YMCA Weekend Escapes - camps for adults with disabilities, to relax, have fun and recharge their batteries.
YMCA Weekend Escapes provides a residential camping program for adults with a disability in modern, accessible facilities.
The program gives participants the opportunity to meet new people and enjoy indoor and outdoor camp-based activities, with trained dedicated volunteers who are ready to help participants to try the activities of their choice.
As well as camp activities such as the giant swing, beach activities and fishing, volunteers theme each camp - past themes have included spring carnival, disco and masquerade - yet if alone time is required, reading a book is welcomed.
Who is eligible?
Adults aged 17 and over with a physical or intellectual disability that have low to medium support needs; that is, do not need personal care but may need prompting.
Groups from Community Residential Units, Supported Residential Services or Adult Training and Support Services (with support staff) are also invited to attend.
Carers are welcomed, however staff ratios are generally one staff member to six campers.

- 18 to 20 March at Queenscliff (Camp Wyuna)
- 23 to 26 June at Falls Creek (Howmans Gap)
- 9 to 11 September at Bacchus Marsh (Lady Northcote)
