Yarra River ‘walk and talk’ tour

The Yarra River is a natural playground in the heart of Melbourne.

Join local expert Andrew Kelly from the Yarra Riverkeepers Association on this family friendly tour and explore the landscape and natural history of the lower Yarra.

Learn about some of the impacts of urban living on our waterways and how we can protect this wonderful community asset.

Come along to this fun, interactive workshop and learn how to de-clutter and organise every room in your house with eco-organiser Tanya Lewis. Discover how to reduce, reuse, and recycle for a simpler life.

You will leave with a better understanding of what your clutter is, and how to responsibly dispose of unwanted stuff.

Introduction to Backyard Biodiversity

Discover the magic of wildlife gardening with Brian Bainbridge from the Indigenous Flora and Fauna Association and learn how indigenous plants in urban gardens help protect and enhance local biodiversity.

Boroondara residents who take part in this session will be invited to join Council’s popular Backyard Biodiversity project which provides resources and assistance to create a small habitat garden at home.

Cultural Diversity Week – Winter vegetable gardening

Join Maria Ciavarella from My Green Garden for a hands-on winter vegetable gardening workshop. Learn about preparing your garden bed and the best ways to plant and care for your winter vegetables.

This workshop celebrates Cultural Diversity Week and attendees from all cultural backgrounds are welcome. The workshop will be delivered in English with translated notes available on the day.
