Walking and cycling
- The Anniversary Trail is an off-road cycling and walking shared path that begins near the East Malvern Station, runs past High Street and continues north to Camberwell and Kew.
- The Gardiners Creek and Ferndale trails are also nearby and may form part of your route.
- Excellent informal cycling routes can take you to the Ashburton Library including Ashburn Grove, Summerhill Road, Dent Street, Glen Iris Road, Yuile Street, Munro Street and Victory Boulevard and others.
Alamein Line to Ashburton Station
Get off at Ashburton Station, walk down Welfare Parade to High Street. From High Street, turn right and walk for about 3 minutes to the library.
City - Vermont South (Route 75)
Get off at the corner of Toorak and Summerhill Roads (stop 51 or 52) then walk 5 to 10 minutes down Summerhill Road and turn left into High Street.
Glen Iris – Glen Waverley (Route 734)
Get off at the corner of High Street and Duke Street.
Altona – Mordialloc SMARTBUS (Route 903)
Get off at the corner of High Street and Warrigal Road and walk west along High Street for 15 minutes until you get to the library. This bus service replaces the previous route 700 bus. SmartBus services run every 15 minutes on weekdays and has extended hours of service.
Box Hill – Chadstone via Surrey Hills, Camberwell and Glen Iris (Route 612)
Get off at the corner of Kerferd Street and Glen Iris Road and walk east for 15 minutes along Ashburton Road, then turn right on to Summer Hill Road and keep walking until you reach High Street. From High Street, turn left and walk a few minutes until you reach the library.
