Ashburton Community Centre

The Ashburton Community Centre is a community-based organisation run by a Committee of Management. The Centre offers many courses and activities, including art and craft, health and fitness, languages, history and culture, home beautiful, social groups and children's programs. Annual membership at the Centre is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Phone the centre for its current program of activities.

The centre – along with the Ashburton Library – is being redeveloped into a vibrant new library and community centre. The centre is located in temporary offices and continues to operate as normal.

Bowen Street Community Centre is a community organisation run by a Committee of Management for the local community. It is an Incorporated Association with strong community connections. It was established in 1983 as the Neighbourhood House for Glen Iris, Camberwell and Hawthorn East.

Craig Family Centre Ashburton

The Craig Family Centre is a community-based organisation that provides service to support individuals and families within the local community. This centre has strong community development focus and encourages participation and involvement of the local community.

The centre offers many programs including child care, support programs, health services and leisure activities. Membership is open to people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultural groups.

It is committed to working with and for the community. We are involved in developing community programs, information sharing, mutual support, advocacy and community participation in local and social issues.

Occasional Childcare session times are Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 12.30 for the 2–3 year old group and Tuesday and Thursday 1.30 to 4.00 for the 3–4 year old group. Please direct enquires to Mardi Luff on 9278 4634 or email.

Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre

Centre reception hours 10am to 4pm during school terms. The Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre offers an exciting range of activities, community events, educational programs and playgroups. Most of these programs operate during school terms.

Annual membership of $5 is required from all centre users. Our rooms are available for hire for parties, meetings or reunions. We also have playgroups who meet each weekday in a sunny spacious room with a safe outdoor play area.


Tooronga Community Centre

Stockland Tooronga Shopping Centre, entry via Crescent Road, corner Toorak Road and Tooronga Road, Glen Iris.

A multi-purpose space designed to host events and meetings for local community groups. The centre can hold up to 50 people at a time. Facilities include disabled access, kitchenette, lounge area, screen, projector, white board, tables and toilets with baby change facilities.

The centre offers free weekend and evening parking (from 7pm), plus free three hour parking from Monday to Friday. Tooronga is easily reached by train or bus services.
