This year's festival includes an exciting and innovative program of events reflecting many different aspects of life in Kew over this long standing two week festival.

Burwood Village Road Festival

The festival that celebrates everything local at the Burwood Village Shopping Centre where Toorak Road begins.

This community event offers something for everyone with live entertainment by local artists, interactive workshops, roving acts and children's activities.

Be sure to take advantage of the local traders and market stalls onsite at this family-friendly affair. It's a celebration full of fun with plenty of surprises for all.

Where: Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn

The Glenferrie Shopping Precint is a-buzz with music, entertainment and over 100 stalls along a 1.5 kilometre stretch of road that houses over 250 amazing Glenferrie Precinct retailers.

Surrey Hills Music FestivalBand playing at Surrey Hills Music Festival

When:12.30pm to 7pm, Saturday 15 November

The festival celebrates local musicians and performers, whilst bringing music from all countries and cultures to Union Road.

There will be great acts across a number of stages, plus the Festival Café and Bar.

All music from 12pm to 7.30pm is free.

The evening ticketed event features Coco’s Lunch followed by the Royal Jelly Dixieland Band.

Maling Road Kristkindl

The Maling Road Kristkindl aims to bring out the true spirit of Christmas and is based on the European traditional Kristkindl Market.

Gifts, food, rides and live entertainment feature at this family-friendly night market. It happens annually in Maling Road on the first Friday in December.

Carols in Canterbury GardensPeople at Canterbury Gardens

When: December, 2014

Activities start at 6.30pm and carols at 7.30pm

When: Canterbury Gardens corner Canterbury and Balwyn Roads, Canterbury

Enjoy the picnic atmosphere with sausage sizzle, hot and cold drinks and strawberries and cream.

Children’s activities include face painting and animal farm. Glow products and candles for sale.

Carols feature a great young band and local talent. Profits go to charity.

Carols in the Park

When: Saturday 13 December

Family Fun activities from 6pm and carols start at 7:30pm

Where: MacLeay Park, Cnr Belmore Road and Buchannan Avenue, Balwyn North

A wonderful evening of Carols featuring Boroondara Brass, the Open Door Singers and special guest appearance by Santa (stunt motorcyclist David Russell) who will fly in on his trusty Suzuki Sleigh.

The event will conclude with the wonderful Hallelujah Chorus and finale of Fireworks.

Organised by the Churches of North Balwyn with assistance from North Balwyn Rotary and 1st North Balwyn Scouts.

Carols at Grace Park

Sausage sizzle from 5pm or bring your own picnic.

Where: Hilda Crescent, Hawthorn

A beautiful night of carols featuring Boroondara Brass and Exaudi Youth Choir led by Daniel van Bergen and Mark O'Leary.

Performances by Auburn Primary School and Wattle Park Primary School. Guest appearance by Santa.
