Camberwell Showtime

When: Friday 8 to Saturday 16 August 2014

Where: Hawthorn Arts Centre, 360 Burwood Road, Hawthorn

This year, is the 50th consecutive Camberwell Showtime. The local annual Scout and Guide stage production written and performed by over 150 youth members from Boroondara.

All-original production is titled “50 – This year the party’s at the hall”.

Surrey Hills Music Festival

When: Saturday 15 November 2014

Where: Surrey Hills Station - Car Park, Union Road/Bedford Avenue, Surrey Hills 

The Surrey Hills Music Festival celebrates local musicians and performers, whilst bringing music from all countries and cultures to Union Road. 

There will be great acts across a number of stages, demonstrations and workshops, plus the Festival Café and Bar. 

All music from 12pm to 7.30pm is free.

Kristkindl Festival 

When: 5pm to 9pm, Friday 5 December 2014

Where: Maling Road, Canterbury

Kristkindl Festival is attended by thousands of residents and visitors, bringing traders and community groups together to celebrate the 'spirit of giving'. 

After running for over 26 years, the Kristkindl Festival has become part of the fundraising of several community groups and schools. 

The event is supported by generations of families, assists residents to participate in their community, and encourages partnerships between volunteer organisations and community networks.

Burwood Uniting Church - Follow the Star

Where: Burwood Uniting Church, Warrigal Road and Hyslop Street, Glen Iris

Follow the Star is a series of interactive artistic displays telling the traditional story of Christmas and incorporating modern cultural celebrations of the season.

The aim of this event is to provide an experience that is accessible to all and involves local community groups. This initiative provides opportunities for various community groups to contribute directly to the celebration of Christmas and strengthens links with local traders in the Burwood area.

Carols in Canterbury Gardens

Carols in Canterbury is held in December each year in Canterbury Gardens.

This annual free event is open to the general public with all profits going to charity.

Carols at Grace Park

Where: Grace Park Hilda Crescent, Hawthorn

This event is a free family-focused community carols where the local residents of Hawthorn and surrounds come together and celebrate the festive season through music and performance. 

The event is targeted specifically at families and enables people of all ages to come together, enjoy community art and culture, socialise with their community, and experience high quality performances in a free and friendly environment.

Burwood Village Autumn Festival

Where: Burwood Village Shopping Centre, Toorak Road, Camberwell

The festival celebrates everything local and is held at the Burwood Village Shopping Centre, where Toorak Road begins.
