VicRoads has launched a social media campaign exclusively on Facebook to address conflicting attitudes between bike riders and motorists.

The first of its kind online campaign will run for six weeks on an official Facebook page, engaging users in various interactive tasks to promote road user awareness and understanding for bike riders.

The page will roll out a different theme each week, focusing on hot topics such as relationships, rules and tips, visibility, points of view, confessions and conciliation.

Road User or Abuser features four interactive components:

• an entertaining and informative quiz to find out what type of road user you really are
• a video to highlight how being on the road changes the way we treat each other
• a discussion board for bike riders and motorists to discuss their experiences and opinions on what it is like to share the road
• weekly polls to clarify more social issues
