Council restores occasional care service at Hawthorn Community House
12 January 2012
The City of Boroondara has been granted a licence to restore the occasional care service from the Hawthorn Community House.
This great development for local families follows the sudden closure of the facility at the end of last year.
Council has made efforts to contact all of the families who had enrolled for the first term of occasional care in 2012.
While some families are yet to respond to a letter sent on Tuesday 3 January, Council is working hard to inform those enrolled families that the occasional care service at Hawthorn Community House is back up-and-running.
Three existing Hawthorn Community House staff have committed to providing ongoing care and education to these families in the first term of the year.
The occasional care service at Hawthorn Community House will be managed on an interim basis by the City of Boroondara for Term One 2012 until alternative arrangements can be made.
Any families that had enrolled for the first term of occasional care at Hawthorn Community House and have not responded to Council can contact Joan McKay, Acting Manager Family Services on 9278 4621 or email Joan.McKay@boroondara.vic.gov.au .
