Home Library Service

Home Library Service provides housebound residents with the same service as those visiting the library.

What is the Home Library Service?

  • Home Library Service regularly delivers library materials to residents of Boroondara having difficulty visiting the library.
  • Reading and/or listening tastes are discussed with the Home Library Service team to assist with selections. 
  • Volunteers deliver items and collect returns.
  • Information and referral services are also available
  • Ask the librarian about other Council services.

Who can use the Home Library Service?

Residents of Boroondara who cannot physically visit the library due to age, frailty or disability.

What can be borrowed?

  • Regular print and large print books, fiction and non-fiction.
  • Talking books on CD.
  • Magazines.
  • DVDs.
  • CDs.

Request specific titles by phoning the library or asking the volunteer.

There is no limit on the number of items borrowed.

Newsletter

The City of Boroondara Library Service, Home News, Newsletter of the Home Library Service is a monthly newsletter for the Home Library Service. The newsletter automatically goes out with each delivery.
