Boroondara Literary Awards
Entry to the 2008 Boroondara Literary Awards are now open.
The Boroondara Literary Awards are a joint activity of the Rotary Club of Balwyn, Leader Newspapers and the City of Boroondara.
The awards consist of two main categories, Young Writers and Open Short Story.
Young Writers includes sections for poetry and prose for secondary students in Year levels 7-9 and 10-12. Boroondara Schools are also invited to participate in the highly successful Writers in Schools program, where they are invited to nominate to play host to a popular writer for a seminar and workshop. This program is provided free in association with the competition.
The Open Short Story section is a national competition with a special prize up for grabs for Boroondara residents.
The awards are judged by successful industry professionals who are widely recognised for their work in the literary field.
All winning stories and poems are published in an anthology. The 2007 anthology is now available and an order form can be downloaded below.
Entries close Friday 29 August 2008, 5pm.
