Family Fun Day, Saturday 14 March 2009
Held from the 12-22 March, this year’s Kew Community Festival theme is “Greening Kew”. 2009 marks the 35th festival and old favourites will be there alongside exciting new attractions.
The Kew Traffic School Annual Bash will be held on Friday 13 March.
The famous street parade sponsored by Yarra Trams takes place on Saturday 14 March followed by the annual Family Fun Day in Alexandra Gardens. The Family Day will feature many local talents on the Kew East Community Bendigo Bank Stage, great rides for all ages and a magical fairy garden for the young ones. The Yarra Tram Cut Out Race will see local schools and restaurants competing for the inaugural Yarra Tram Cup.
During the following week there will be a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including Cinema Under the Stars at Kew East Primary School.
The Closing Concert at Hays Paddock, Kew East, on Saturday 21 March promises to be a great night for the whole family featuring world class entertainment, rides and will end with a spectacular fireworks display.
