Election Process
Council has the enormous responsibility of deciding the strategic direction of the City in areas as diverse as planning, home care, waste management and youth services.
Council represents the interests of the Boroondara community and is responsible for managing more than 150 services.
City of Boroondara elections were last held in November 2004 and will be again held in November 2008.
In 2004, the elections were held by postal vote and conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission.
The 2004 elections resulted in six new councillors taking office, while 4 sitting councillors were returned for an additional term.
The voter turnout figure was 74 per cent points, which indicates a community that is both interested and involved with the Council and keen to ensure representation that advocates for their best interests.
